The FeedSmart "Cost of Supplements and Cost of Pasture" models

Abstract

The "FeedSmart" extension programme, focused on improved feed planning for sheep and beef farmers includes two computer models to assist with decision making. The Cost of Pasture model requires the user to input a farm income and cost structure, and a pasture growth curve. It calculates the costs of growing pasture on a dry matter (DM) basis.
